Learnerbly gives every employee a personal learning budget and a curated marketplace of courses, books, coaching and events. Keeping the learner list in step with the org chart is manual, error-prone work for People teams: new hires wait for access, leavers keep it, and approvals go to the wrong manager. The Bob integration removes that work. Every employee in Bob gets a Learnerbly account on their start date and is archived on their termination date, and names, work emails, countries, departments and managers are refreshed every weekday, so content regions and spending approvals always follow Bob. The connection is read-only, uses OAuth through Merge, and never writes anything back to Bob. Admins keep control of budgets and invitations.

Functionality and how the integration works

A Learnerbly admin connects Bob from Settings → Integrations → HRIS. The connection window is provided by Merge, our HRIS connection provider: the admin signs in to Bob with OAuth and approves read-only access to employee data, sensitive employee data (home address country) and time off. Merge then pulls the employee list from Bob’s API and Learnerbly processes it: employees are created as learners on their start date with their country, department as group and Bob manager as spending approver; changes to names, emails, countries, departments and managers are applied; and employees past their termination date are archived. The first sync runs as soon as Bob is connected and then every weekday at 08:00 UTC. Nothing is written back to Bob, and budgets and invitations remain under the admin’s control in Learnerbly.
